BUBBLING UNDER - Tha American Charts 1959-1963
Compiled by Austin Powell (The Forgotten 45s, The American Music Library series), Bubbling Under The American Charts 1959-1963 is a 90-track 3CD collection of singles that accrued enough sales and/or airplay to register in the American Billboard magazine’s Bubbling Under chart, but then failed to climb into the Pop Hot 100. In this 3CD package we’re bringing together some of the most interesting records from all musical genres to have graced the Bubbling Under chart but failed to progress into the Hot 100, between 1959 and 1963. CADENCE RECORDS STORY - Poetry In Motion
The Cadence Records label was founded in December 1952 in New York by arranger and bandleader Archie Bleyer, musical director for American radio and television personality Arthur Godfrey. Cadence Records shut its doors in 1964, a victim of the British invasion - but, as this compilation makes clear, the label represents an important slice of pop history at the quality end of the musical spectrum. 2 CD set - 50 tracks. DOO WOP REVIVAL - The R&B Vocal Group Sound 1961-1962

Doo Wop Revival takes the story into the early sixties when R&B vocal groups found themselves back in favour. Limited quantity.

GREAT SONGS OF THE HEART FROM THE FIFTIES AND SIXTIES
The 3CD set Great Songs Of The Heart presents 90 songs of the heart released between 1951 and 1961. When rock ’n’ roll came along in the mid-fifties, the love songs got simpler; the cleverly crafted lyrics of the great songwriters of the previous three decades gave way to the two-minute declaration of love in much simpler and straightforward language, but in the first half of the fifties the big stars of the day like Eddie Fisher, Doris Day, Kay Starr and Nat “King” Cole liked nothing better than to sing of new love, lost love and broken hearts, as you’ll hear on our selection. Across the pop, country and R&B markets in America, as rock ’n’ roll gave way to a more homogenised pop music in the late fifties and early sixties, New York’s Brill Building songwriting teams provided a ready supply of songs. 3 CD set - 90 tracks. Limited quantity.

THE GRILL CAN'T HELP IT
Fantastic Voyage has cooked up a generous serving of rock & roll which will titillate the taste buds to perfection. Bearing in mind that food, drink and summer fun played a major role in the songs that satiated teenage appetites at the dawning of the big beat, Stuart Colman has drawn up the menu which is jammed with all the right ingredients. The bill of fare boasts such classic titles as ‘Saturday Night Fish Fry’, ‘Drinkin Wine Spo-Dee-O-Dee’ and ‘Summertime’, all of which serve as an appetizer for even rarer cuts like The Danderliers’ ‘Chop, Chop Boom’ and ‘Phil Gray’s ‘Pepper Hot Baby’. Needless to say, the 2xCD set also features a range of entrees that have been denied a visit to the digital format for far too long. 2 CD set - 50 tracks. Limited quantity.

JACK SCOTT - The Very Best of
Scott's style was a mixture of three strands: country, rockabilly and gospel. He excelled at the rockabilly, writing most of his own material. As for country, he recorded a whole album of Hank Williams songs just for starters and also an album of gospel. A tall imposing figure (he was also a bodybuilder with a deep voice), Scott's records were often driven by his distinctive acoustic guitar strumming, enjoy them here on this superb 2 disc set. 50 tracks.

Zirkon Records was an independent Canadian record label based in Montreal and set up in late 1960 by Abby Smollan and Art Young, both formerly of Phonodisc and Morris Distributing. By 1963, Zirkon Records had been disbanded but the catalogue remains a time capsule of Canadian popular-music taste during its brief period of activity. Enjoy these gems from the likes of Ral Donner, Gladys Knight, The Flamingos and The Echoes. 2 CD set - 40 tracks. Limited quantity.
